Art projects inspired by scripture for ages 6-10*
Available spots
Service Description
Ages 6-10* are invited to join Still Point founder Annika Lee for creative activities inspired by scripture while making new friends and learning new skills! We circle up each morning to enjoy uplifting music and movement and light-hearted ice breakers. After circle, the children are invited to explore guided arts activities such as those outlined below. During the activities, we will discuss questions related to the scripture or biblical story that inspired the project. In addition, self-selection centers will be on offer as children complete guided projects. We will cover different ground each day during the 9:30-12:00 sessions, so please confirm that your child can join us for all ten hours of this Monday-Thursday experience. (Please note: drop-off/pickup window is 10 minutes unless you have opted for the add-on early drop-off option at 9:00.) *Children up to age 12 may be enrolled alongside younger sibling(s) if they would enjoy the mixed-age group experience. We are made in God's image! Scripture: Gen 1:27 Activity: Self-portraits in clay Questions for discussion: What types of things should we put into our eyes and ears as children of God? What kind of words should come from our mouths? What makes someone truly beautiful? God is the potter and we are the clay! Scripture: Isaiah 64:8 Activity: explore wheel-thrown pottery Questions for discussion: How does God help us to shape us in life? If we start to fall, how does God lift us up? God is a master weaver! Scripture: Psalm 139:13-16 Activity: Recycled Weaving Questions for discussion: What are some examples of how God works to turn challenges into something good? What are the common ties that bind God's family together? God's wisdom can be seen in nature and His creatures great and small! Scripture: Psalm 104:24 Activity: Paper Clay Animal Masks Questions for discussion: What are ways that we can be good stewards of nature or of plants or animals in our care? God can use a small offering for the good of many! Scripture: John 6:5-13 Activity: Stamp carving/print making Questions for discussions: What is something that we can share that God can use to make the world a better place? Does it have to be a thing? Could it be a skill?

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES for Youth Drop-off Classes & Camps LATE PICKUP/EARLY DROP OFF: We ask that Parents honor the 10-minute window on either side of the class schedule. Unless old enough to drive themselves, children must be signed in by a parent or legal guardian who is prepared to present their photo ID at pickup. Emergency contacts will be called after 10 minutes, and late pickups may result in the cancellation of registration without refund and/or barring from future registrations. STUDIO ETIQUETTE: So that each participant may get the most out of the experience, we ask that all abide by the following during group classes: 1. Keep phones stowed in the designated bin with notifications silenced. 2. Follow instructors' guidance on cleanup procedures closely. 3. Avoid getting ANY clay in the work sink or bathroom sink drains. 4. Keep side conversations on "library voice" mode, and lead with the positive, avoiding negative self-talk, as well as political rhetoric or foul language. 5. Before leaving, double check the instructor that your ware is placed and labeled appropriately, and that your work area and tools are fully restored. We aim to maintain a respectful environment in which potters of all experience levels can feel encouraged and inspired. You may also wish to refer to the FAQs for more information on what to wear and bring. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: (Please see also the "Cancellation & Refund Policies" outlined on the website for further details.) FOR 1-TIME ACTIVITIES, WORKSHOPS, or PRIVATE EVENTS No refunds are available. Please refer to website for possible time-sensitive accommodations under special circumstances. FOR CLASSES OR WORKSHOPS OF TWO OR MORE DAYS We value our instructors' time, as we do each seat at the circle.
